We are a non-profit organization dedicated to those that have served or
are currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States in the
field of Dermatology. Our organization consists of approximately
150-200 active duty and retired military dermatologists from all
branches of service including the Army, Navy, Air Force and Public
Health Service.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a forum to support Military Dermatology by recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and service to country; to bring together members of the uniformed services through the free exchange of ideas and solutions across all branches of service; to further improve the art and science of dermatology; to act as spokesperson for dermatologists serving in the uniformed services; and to offer a source of fellowship and camaraderie that spans all generations, young and old, retired and active, so that we can better serve our country and our fellow man.

Membership Categories
Active member
Active Duty medical officers whose medial practice is primarily in the field of Dermatology
Inactive member
Former active members who are not currently on Active Duty
Civilian member
Physician graduates of acceptable medical institutions who are practicing in the field of Dermatology and are approved by the Executive Committee of the AMD
Life member
Active, inactive, or civilian members who have paid life dues and maintain an active interest in the field of Dermatology
Honorary member
Distinguished physicians in either the Armed Forces or the field of dermatology, nominated by the Executive Committee and approved my the members of the AMD. Each of the Active Surgeons General will automatically be honorary members during their tenure.
